The Valley of the Rocks
The Valley of the Rocks is just a five to ten minute walk from Lynton, where you will be suddeny standing in a completely different landscape. The Valley of the Rocks is a designated Site of Scientific Interest formed by glaciation during the last Ice Age. The valley provides some of the UK's most spectacular coastal scenery, including 'Mother Meldrums Cave' 'The White Lady' and 'The Devils Cheesering' and is also home to its own family of feral resident goats which can be seen standing on the many ledges of some of the UK's highest sea cliffs! Not surprisingly, the Valley of Rocks has been used as a backdrop in film and TV with the BBC programme Top Gear featuring most recently.
